Real Honey Vs. Store Bought Honey
People ask us all the time why local honey costs more than the plastic bear on the supermarket shelf. It’s a fair question—until you look under the lid.
The reality is that cheap grocery store honey isn't really honey the way nature intended. Most commercial packers ultra-pasteurize their honey under extreme heat, destroying the natural enzymes, beneficial raw propolis, and delicate floral aromas. Then they force-filter it under high pressure. What’s left in that plastic bear is basically clear, cooked sugar syrup.
For us, beekeeping isn't an automated factory process; it’s personal. Why do we push through 100-degree summer heat hauling heavy 60-pound supers? Why do we spend freezing winter mornings building custom sugar boards to keep our bees alive? Because these bees are under our personal care, and we take pride in doing honest work with our own hands. When a hive struggles, we don't dump chemicals on them; we manage them frame by frame, keeping them strong, healthy, and resilient.
When it comes time to bottle, we do things the hard way on purpose. We extract in small batches and we don't flash-heat or filter out the raw goodness. If a jar has our name on it, it’s pure, honest honey, exactly as the bees made it—rich with local pollen, natural enzymes, and real flavor.
We do all of this because quality matters, but more than that, because of you.
We know you have endless options at the grocery store. When you choose to support our family, buy our honey, or stop by to talk with us, that trust means everything. You are the reason we push through the long days and keep our standards where they are. Without your support, we couldn't do what we love.
From our family to yours—thank you for being part of this journey with us.
