The "Honey Flow"

If you walk into our bee yards right now, the energy is absolutely electric. The summer heat has finally locked in, the alfalfa and wildflowers are blooming across the valley, and our colonies are officially working overtime. For a beekeeper, this is the absolute peak of the year—the "honey flow."
Right now, our main job is staying out of the way while making sure the bees have enough room to store their hard work. We are out in the yards stacking honey supers (the wooden boxes where the clean surplus honey goes) as fast as they can fill them. A strong colony can pull in multiple pounds of nectar on a single hot, sunny day, turning our northern Utah and southern Idaho wild spaces into pure liquid gold.
The hives aren't the only place where things are buzzing. Behind the scenes, we are spinning the extractors, prepping clean glass jars, and getting our farmers market setup dialed in. There is nothing quite like looking at a stack of freshly capped, heavy honey frames and knowing exactly which local fields that flavor came from.
We are officially counting down the days until our first local market appearance on July 11th! If you've been waiting for fresh, raw, local honey straight from the extractor to your kitchen table, the wait is almost over. Keep an eye on our page for exact market locations and times—we can't wait to see you there!
